The London Canal Museum is dedicated to educating and inspiring our visitors with the history of London’s canals - how they’ve shaped London’s development, the ordinary people that lived and worked on them, as well as the entrepreneurs who profited from them. We want to pass on the heritage of the canals so that future generations can learn about London’s industrial and social past.

At the London Canal Museum we are looking for education volunteers to support the Education Officer with School visits to the museum, ensuring school groups have an enjoyable and educational visit to the Museum.

**As an Education Team volunteer you would**:

- Help set-up workshops ready before groups arrive
- Help deliver workshops & presentations with the Education Officer as the lead.
- Work with small groups of children & adults during Museum sessions

**To be successful in the role you will need to be**:

- Outgoing and sociable
- Interested in people
- A team player
- Have an interest in how learning happens

New perspectives on the museum and its work

**What are the working hours and length of commitment?**

There are no set days for visiting school groups, however, they usually take place during the week, Tuesdays to Fridays. The museum is not open on Mondays. A school visit usually lasts half a day and begins in the morning after 10 am, when the museum opens.
