**About The Role**
The Transport Planner will be route planning deliveries daily and scheduling delivery times throughout the North West of England. They will work closely with up to 30 HGV drivers to plan their daily workloads and will help to ensure our customers receive a first-class service.
**Duties Include**
- Developing relationships with external customers
- Maintain computerised system and have the skills to use Microsoft Excel
- Completing courses as and when required for any new policies and procedures
- A good understanding of transport regulations that are currently in operation
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels
- Monitor Tachograph Compliance and work with drivers to eliminate infringements
- Strong organisational skills for planning schedules, journeys, and loads
- Providing professional and specialist advice both internally and externally
- Provide general support appropriate to the management when require
- Proactively work to reduce late deliveries and missed time slots
- Ensure high levels of support are in place for services
- Ability to work flexibly and to make decisions quickly
- Collect, analyse, and distribute information and data
- Developing working partnerships with customers
- Planning routes and scheduling delivery times
- Liaise with other staff within the company
- Prioritise and co-ordinate workloads
- Good geographical knowledge
**Required Skills & Experience**
- Conversant with VOSA regulations
- Experience of Intact iQ would be advantageous, but not essential
- Working unsupervised, continually managing time and prioritising work to meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills, interaction at all levels internal and external with attention to detail
- Computer literate (Strong Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook) and numerical skills
- Company / Distribution Knowledge / Logistics / Supply Chain Environment
- HGV License would be advantageous, but not essential
- Team player with a flexible can-do attitude
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Problem solving and logical thinking

Hours shown are the companies trading hours, on occasions the position may call for work outside of these and will be paid.
