**Your dream role**:
- We are looking for a driven, pro-active Material Planner to join our highly successful Supply Chain team.
- Reporting into the Materials Manager and working with a wide range of suppliers, you will be responsible for ensuring that materials are delivered on time, to an acceptable quality standard and within budget in line with the production schedule. In addition, you will be responsible for managing any exceptions and material shortages and communicating these issues in an accurate and timely manner.
- Working closely with key stakeholders to ensure all delivery discrepancies are raised and take appropriate action as required. Carry out auditing of Build Partner Goods in Process, ensuring all goods are GRN'd correctly and cycle counts as required.
- You will have a good understanding of utilisation of key MRP master data to optimise inventory levels.
- You will attend daily shortage and production meetings both locally and internationally to enable effective prioritisation of workload and taking the appropriate escalation path if necessary.
- You will take responsibility for close out of delivery and invoicing queries in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy of inventories and timely supplier payments.
- You will monitor overall material availability as well as levels of excess and inactive stock, re-utilise on future contracts or at alternative build sites.
- You will have the opportunity for your voice to be heard, we have lots of scope for improvement in various areas and are keen to embrace change.
**What you will bring**:
- To be successful, you will have demonstrable experience in a similar role, as defined in this advert where you have made a significant impact on key performance metrics, such as:
- Purchase Orders generated in specific time
- Execution and achievement of HVS weekly
- Execution and achievement of overdue orders
- Material shortages
- Turnaround time of delivery discrepancies
- Supplier performance
- Reduction of excess and obsolete inventories
- Ideally you will be qualified to HNC level (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline. A recognised Supply Chain or Logistics related professional qualification such as CIPS, APICS or Six Sigma would be advantageous, although not essential.
- Your experience will be gained in another similarly complex, fast-moving materials environment.
- You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with colleagues and suppliers. Furthermore, you will have the credibility to manage problem suppliers to find mutually beneficial solutions to problems.
- Analytical by nature, you will be comfortable working with large and often complex datasets; more importantly however, you will be able to translate this into clear actions.
- You will be highly IT literate with advanced Excel skills and previous experience of working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and or Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems. Ideally this will be Sypro, however we can offer training and development on this.
- A proven self-starter, with excellent time management skills, you will be able to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
- Finally, you should be comfortable and enjoy doing all of this in a deadline driven, pressurised environment.
