**What is the Job Function?**
Kibble Education and Care Centre has an exciting opportunity for a qualified Forensic or Clinical Psychologist.
You will join the Specialist Intervention Services (SIS) Team. This is a busy, enthusiastic, multidisciplinary team with a range of professions including forensic and clinical psychology, systemic family therapists and a range of therapists providing integrative, play, art, and counselling services. We work with children and young people aged 5-25 across a range of settings including secure, residential and foster care.
You will have a varied role, undertaking assessments, intervention and consultancy for children and young people in Kibble. There are also opportunities to undertake research and deliver training. You will have lots of energy, initiative, recognise the importance of reflective practice and ultimately will have the best interests of children and young people at the forefront of your practice.
**Roles & Responsibilities**:
- To provide specialist psychological assessments based on the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data including psychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews.
- To provide specialist case consultation to the MDT regarding mental health, psychological and risk assessment, formulation, risk management.
- To implement and support others in a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, staff, professionals and families by drawing from different explanatory models and maintaining a number of professional hypotheses.
- To provide highly specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to young peoples formulation and treatment plan.
- To exercise autonomous professional responsibility.
- To contribute directly and indirectly to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care.
- To undertake risk assessment and support risk management for young people and to provide advice to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
- To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of children and young people.
- To contribute to research, service audit and evaluation.
- Develop and deliver staff training in relevant psychological areas.
- Work as part of the SIS team but also develop and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders including residential childcare workers and Social Workers.
- Compile and maintain accurate records, having due regard for their security and issues of client confidentiality.
- Participate in continuing professional development as agreed by the Principal Psychologist and/or Chartered Psychologist.
- Participate and contribute to any conferences and seminars that may be arranged by Kibble and to represent the organisation at conferences and other events as appropriate.
- To maintain an awareness of health and safety at work and to operate a safe working environment for self and others.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Essential_
- A good understanding of child and adolescent development.
- Previous experience of psychological assessment and delivery of appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across a range of media and recognition of importance of building relationships.
- Previous experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Able to prioritise a demanding workload and manage reactivity.
- As a clinical psychologist, doctoral training in clinical psychology which is recognised as providing eligibility for registration as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a practitioner psychologist.
- As a forensic psychologist, doctoral level training and completion of supervised practice providing eligibility for registration as a Chartered Forensic Psychologist with the BPS and registration with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist.
- Evidence of ongoing commitment to development as a qualified psychologist.

- Previous experience of working with young people who are looked after and accommodated including primary school aged children.
