Assistant Psychologist

**Who are we?**
Kibble is Scotland’s specialist provider of services for at risk children and young people. By providing a range of integrated services, we help build positive futures for children and young people aged five years old and above, with complex social, emotional and educational needs.
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist. This is a fixed term post for 12 months. This role will involve supporting the psychology team and wider Specialist Intervention Services (SIS) team.
The post holder will work under the supervision of a qualified forensic psychologist and other professionals as appropriate. You will support the team in assessments, interventions, research and training. You will have lots of energy, initiative, recognise the importance of reflective practice and ultimately will have the best interests of children and young people at the forefront of your practice. Due to the fast paced and reactive nature of the role you will ideally have had experience working with young people and as an Assistant Psychologist. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and work well to deadlines.
**Main Duties**
- To support the psychology and wider therapy team within Specialist Intervention Services as required.
- To assist and contribute to psychological assessments, formulations and interventions under appropriate supervision.
- To undertake assessments and psychological interventions, when deemed appropriate, under supervision.
- Attend relevant meetings including multidisciplinary meetings to provide and present psychological input. Communicate and liaise with relevant members of the multi-disciplinary team as appropriate.
- To maintain up to date records and relevant information appropriately and communicate in timely manner
- To undertake literature reviews.
- To assist in related clinical administration including recording information in meetings, collection of data/statistics, audit and/or research projects
- To contribute to and undertake evaluation processes and procedures including statistical analysis of data and producing reports.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Essential_
- Psychology degree which has GBR with the British Psychological Society (2:1 or above).
- A good understanding of child and adolescent development. Knowledge and understanding of how adversity and traumatic experiences can influence children and young people who are looked after and accommodated.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across a range of media and recognition of importance of building relationships
- Able to prioritise a demanding workload, work to deadlines and manage reactivity, work reliably and consistently with work agreed and managed at regular intervals.
- Ability to understand and use supervision appropriately and effectively
- Flexibility according to service requirements
- Desirable_
- Further postgraduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology
- Further training or skills development relevant to the role
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience of clinical audit/service-based research and quantitative research including data analysis skills.
- Previous experience of working with young people who are looked after and accommodated, including young children Previous experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist
