Chelmsford City Council is recruiting a Temporary Accommodation Officer in its Strategic Housing Service. We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience of housing, especially homelessness and property management.

The role requires working with a range of landlords who provide temporary accommodation, ensuring there are places available for those who have become homeless, supporting plans for moving families and single people on when other homes become available, and ensuring the services provided by landlords comply with the council’s standards and requirements. Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent administrative skills, an ability to work under pressure in what can at times be a challenging but also very rewarding role.

The successful applicant will be required to work 37 hours per week, based at the Civic Centre in Chelmsford but with the opportunity to benefit from the Council’s hybrid and flexible working policies. The post holder may be required to travel and / or work from other locations as required.

Interviews are currently scheduled for the week commencing 21st August.
