**We are looking for a Accounts Payable Assistant to join the team at our office based in Waterlooville (Hybrid working available).**

As the Accounts Payable Assistant you will provide assistance to ensure that the Accounts Payable function operates efficiently as well as ensuring all expenditure is appropriately approved for goods and services required for the purposes of the business in line with the purchasing policy.

**Hours**: Mon-Fri, 9-5, permanent

**Salary**: £26,000pa although there is flexibility for someone with marked experience & able to step up as required.

**What you’ll do**:

- Ensure purchase invoices are matched with the corresponding purchase order and any differences are approved by the relevant manager
- Ensure any invoice queries are dealt with in a timely manner
- Ensure invoices have been coded and posted correctly into the finance system
- Check, process and post employee expenses onto the finance system
- Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
- Ensure all prepayments and accruals are recorded and communicated to the Accounts Payable Supervisor.
- Assist in the preparation of supplier payments in accordance with payment terms
- Liaise closely with administration staff at centres and the finance team
- Undertake ad-hoc projects as requested
- Assist the finance team with their day-to-day administration tasks
- Follow finance protocols, policies and procedures and operate in full compliance to guidelines
- Provide support to the Accounts Payable Supervisor as required

- Previous experience of working within a finance department

**Qualifications and Knowledge**:

- Knowledge of an Accounts Payable function
- Understanding of customer care
- GCSE and or A Level qualifications
- Able to use Microsoft office suite
