**Job Role**:Digital Content Editor

MPA are currently recruiting a Digital Content Editor on behalf of our Belfast based client.

The postholder will be responsible as part of our client’s Communications team for the development and delivery of a high-quality digital communications service to the agency’s corporate, health topic and intranet websites. S/he will support the programme of work to create, publish, manage, and maintain a range of information to promote and advance core elements of the client’s programme of work.

The postholder will work with a range of stakeholders from across the service and wider client organisations, and liaise with outside suppliers, to deliver content which supports the advancement of the client’s digital communications strategy. Specific responsibilities will be allocated to the post holder who will be expected to work flexibly with colleagues to meet service requirements.

**KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Service Delivery**
- Supporting the Communications Manager in the development and delivery of content hosted on the encompass website.
- Contributing to the strategic overview, direction and approach of specific sections of the encompass website to support the communication of key strategic programme objectives.
- Inputting to the development of work procedures, practices and approaches to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
- Engaging in the preparation, production and dissemination of material to steering groups and involved in the development of the encompass website.
- Liaising with HSC officers to identify and incorporate cross-cutting content.
- Maintaining and updating database of encompass materials for use in encompass and encompass related communications
- Assessing analytics, metrics and statistics to profile and report on patterns of use.
- Scoping and timetabling editorial and technical work, updating and developing function and features of websites, and preparing images, audio and video files for uploading.
- Supporting creation of and delivery of social media material relating to the encompass programme

**Development and Innovation**

Identifying opportunities to develop content in alternative formats, eg infographics, video. Monitoring and preparing intelligence on web traffic and video material usage to review and report traffic and gain insight on how to make improvements.

**Collaborative Working**
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external, to achieve successful development of content for hosting on the encompass website.
- Participating in oversight groups relating to content.
- Liaising with external suppliers and supporting with the dissemination of information and resources on encompass website.

**Quality**
- Publishing content in a clear, accurate and timely manner, ensuring compliance with the encompass style guide to promote encompass information to the target audience.
- Checking/ rectifying content issues identified by broken links reports, accessibility audits and any other forms of feedback.
- Contributing to the overall corporate and integrated governance processes to ensure compliance with public sector values and codes of conduct, operations and accountability.
- Identifying, recording and addressing risks to the operation of the encompass website. Providing an excellent customer service by responding to queries and requests from stakeholders, ensuring issues are dealt with promptly and efficiently.

**Communication and Information Management**
- Providing professional advice to internal and external stakeholders on production of appropriate material for publication referring to the encompass programme.
- Presenting style guide and template options to various stakeholder working groups in order to gain consensus, in advance of technical design work commencing.
- Managing all information and associated files and records in line with information governance policies of encompass.

**People Management and Development**

Undertaking such training as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the post, including updating appropriate information technology skills.

**Essential Criteria**
- together with at least 1 years’ experience in the field of digital media_

- Professional qualification or equivalent/higher qualification and 3 years’ experience in the field of digital media_

- 5 years’ experience in a role involving digital media_

**Desirable Criteria**

1. Practical experience of using: a. Web Content Management Systems e.g. WordPress and Drupal

b. Web measurement and reporting tools e.g. Google analytics

c. Social media management tools

d. Search engine optimisation techniques e.g. metatags
