We are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner who supports this ethos and has a particular interest or strength in working with children with complex SEND, particularly those with Autism and with Communication and Interaction needs. This role would suit someone who wants to gain experience with working with a range of SEND needs and is interested in becoming a SENDCO in the future.
- a teacher with QTS who is an excellent communicator and advocate for vulnerable students
- able to manage a 'caseload' of personalised education programmes for students with high levels of SEND needs
- able to independently manage specific outcome-led projects or short-term interventions driven by the needs of students and the school
- willing to demonstrate commitment to the values and behaviours of St John’s School
- able to enthuse, engage, motivate others to raise standards and achievement
- committed to working with young people who have a range of barriers to learning
- committed to working with staff, parents and agencies to promote best practice for learners who have barriers to learning
- experience of teaching SEND children in a primary school setting is essential
