StokeonTrent, United Kingdom Team Evolution Full time

** PLEASE NOTE: THIS JOB IS BASED IN AUSTRIA FOR WINTER MONTHS**

Do you want to spend the winters in the mountains helping to support some of Britains up and coming winter sports athletes? We are currently recruiting for a House Parent to join our Pastoral Team.

The Team Evolution programme is designed for alpine athletes looking to work within a professional structure that is dedicated to their development both on and off the slopes. Team Evolution provides alpine training opportunities for committed young student-athletes who are looking to pursue their athletic and educational goals, _“In Pursuit of Excellence.” _The majority of our athletes compete internationally, representing GBR at a variety of events throughout the winter, and range from 12 years old through to Senior World Cup athletes, and those competing whilst studying at Open University.

In a training environment focused on hard work and commitment, which enables trainees to learn life lessons by risking failure and learning from success, the programmes provided by the Team Evolution set-up must be student-athlete centred at all times. This includes delivering an educational support programme to the trainees which allows them to stay on top of their UK schooling, and spend large amounts of time away from the UK at the training base in Austria.

The academy training base in Radstadt, Austria provides a "home away from home" where the student-athletes and staff live for the season. The staffing team is made up of knowledgeable and committed pastoral staff, tutors and coaches who are passionate about their roles in developing young people, and obviously love the mountains The Pastoral team is expected to support the athletes growth whilst help them deal with any challenges they encounter, whilst making use of their surroundings to engage the student athletes in the local language and cultures.

In an environment that is ever changing, the House Parent needs to be flexible, adaptable, happy to change plans at the last minute and put both the needs of the athlete and requirements of the programme first, above any personal desires.

**Main Objectives**:

- To support the athletes with their day to day routines, helping them balance training, education, rest and social dynamics
- To be on call each day in case any accidents/emergencies take place
- To be at the house when the younger athletes return from training to communicate plans, and help them learn to unpack, prepare for school and get organised for each afternoon
- To encourage games and social interaction each evening before athletes go to bed
- To work with the other members of the Pastoral Team to arrange wake ups, and help set, monitor or clean away breakfast, depending on responsibilities, helping athletes prepare for the day ahead
- To clean away after lunch times and prepare athletes for school
- To check on athletes in the evenings, enforce curfew and ensure athletes get enough rest
- To plan, supervise and lead activities for younger athletes on days off
- To work with other members of the Pastoral Team to assist with the grocery shop twice a week, as well as ensuring the training base is stocked with everything needed to operate properly
- To organise and complete laundry rounds and house deep clean once a week
- To provide support to athletes in a way that allows them to make mistakes, learn from these errors, and develop into well rounded individuals
- To deal with any safeguarding issues in an appropriate manner, utilizing the guidelines found in the Team Evolution Handbook, and following the governance of our policies
- Maintain a friendly, but professional relationship with all student athletes, parents and staff appropriately
- All members of Team Evolution staff will be required to assist with driving, including airport pick-ups, during the season. Applicants should have a full, clean driving license *

**Remuneration**:

- Wages are based on experience, ranging from £250 - £350 per working week, plus bonuses, where appropriate and agreed in advance.
