As part of the delivery of Dreadnought Class Submarines, Rolls-Royce Derby is undergoing a large Nuclear Facilities Regeneration programme in order to manufacture components for the Dreadnought nuclear propulsion plant. This job will be a key part in the Commissioning of these facilities.

What you will be doing:
You will be acting as a Commissioning Systems Engineer and Section Lead in providing technical supervisory oversight of a team of Systems Engineers, in support of the delivery of Commissioning of a large scale automated chemical processing facility used in the manufacture of Submarine nuclear reactor components.
- Technical ownership of a range of systems within an area of the facility, providing technical support to the resolution of defects identified during commissioning and interfacing with the Design Engineering team to ensure solutions are implemented and tested in line with change control processes.
- Definition of commissioning test methods to substantiate design performance and safety requirements, including the authoring of commissioning test documentation and analysis of test results.
- Technical oversight of the delivery of work packages within the section team, including mentoring of junior engineers and goal setting, to bring facility systems through progressive stages of Commissioning to a point where the facility and manufacturing processes are functional and safe for handover into Operations.
- Manage the planning and progress tracking of technical packages, setting delivery targets and reporting progress to the Commissioning Manager and Project Manager.

- This role will involve working with a wide range of people and skills, both within the section team and across the wider project, including Commissioning, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and wider project stakeholders.
- The role will come with a diverse range of learning and development opportunities within the Commissioning function.
- Previous experience of commissioning and/or Systems Engineering within the nuclear industry is highly desired, or experience of facility commissioning within a regulated industry such as Chemical Production, Pharmaceuticals, Defence, Oil & Gas etc.
- A degree/foundation degree in Engineering or Science is preferable along with relevant industry experience.
