**About the Role**

The Welfare and Support Officer is responsible for promoting welfare, safeguarding, guidance and support for all Health & Care Vocational Scholars, so as to achieve a safe and inclusive learning and working environment for all. They will be the first point of contact for all Safeguarding and welfare concerns using a range of media.

The Welfare and Support Officer will also be responsible for delivering Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to support the Scholars in moving towards their career goals and planning their next steps. This role is also responsible for the coordination and support of the Scholarship Enrichment Programme, which includes but not limited; organising shadowing opportunities, training and peer on peer mentoring.

You will
- Be the first point of contact for all Vocational Scholars for advice/guidance or referrals if they are concerned about their own welfare or others (this may also need to be out of hours so staff should always know how to contact you)
- Responsible for following each organisation’s safeguarding and wellbeing processes while maintaining a focus on the wellbeing and safety of the Scholars
- Making monthly Welfare calls to all the Scholars to ensure that they are progressing and settling well at work via a range of media and/or in person
- Supporting each Scholar with an Individual Development Plan that includes in work progression, training, shadowing and prompt next steps action planning
- Arranging training and shadowing opportunities so that scholars can access different opportunities and learn about different roles in the Care Sector. This could be in their individual organisations or across the partnership
