As this is an entry level role, training will be given, and experience in sales is not essential. As a sales assistant, your role is to work alongside the sales team, and to help to sell as many of the company’s goods or services as possible. As such you have a very important role to play in the company’s success.

Your daily activities will include:

- Generating new leads with new customers and clients in order to prospect for new business
- Listening to customer requirements and presenting appropriately
- Offering accurate appraisals, and effective negotiation in relation to part exchange vehicles with clients and managers
- Making accurate calculations, and providing customers with accurate quotations
- Liaising with service suppliers, colleagues and managers to check on the progress of existing orders
- Ensuring accurate completion of any required documentation.
- Discussing and understanding any promotions with managers and colleagues and effectively advising customers of such
- Gathering market and customer information and providing feedback
- Ensuring satisfactory presentation of goods on display and in stock
- Reviewing your own performance, aiming to consistently meet and exceed targets
- Attending team meetings and representing your organisation at trade exhibitions or other events
- Compliance with all regulatory and relevant advisory bodies standards
- Ensuring competence with any relevant IT systems used within the organisation

**Working Hours**
- An average working week would be 42.5 hours per week over 5 days.

**Person Requirements **To be a sales assistant at Georgesons you need to have:

- A customer focused approach
- Excellent communication skills
- A confident and determined approach
- A high degree of self-motivation and drive
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- The ability to develop a good knowledge of the products and services your company offers, and the industry in which it trades.
- The capacity and resilience to flourish in a highly competitive environment
- The ability to cope with rejection
- An ability to accept and offer constructive criticism between peers and managers
- A willingness to follow any reasonable instruction from managers.
- An ability and willingnes to follow a structured training and personal development plan.

**Experience required**:

- Must have a Full Clean UK Drivers License
- Must have experience in working, in a customer service or sales role for over 1 year.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have had continuous full time employment for over 2 years.

**FCA** This role is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and will require that the job holder complete the SAF assessment. They will be required to work within the guidelines as per the FCA Policy and the ‘supervisory’ section with regard to Insurance Code of Business.
