**Commercial Policy Advisor (Inside IR35)**

**Contract Term: 3 Month**

**Contracting Authority: Defra**

**Location: Remote with x2 days per month office working days in London**

**In the Defra group, we deal with a vast range of issues that profoundly impact on people’s lives. **As a HEO Commercial Policy Advisor your main responsibilities would be**:

- Develop and manage relationships with key partners both internal and external to shape and deliver this work in line with policy intent, in particular Food Standards Agency and Defra Legal Teams.
- Support with any other SPS policy work including ad-hoc queries on SPS standards policy in NI, as needed
- Implementing policies
- Leading the coordination of the implementations
- Policy analysis

**You’ll have relevant experience in**:

- An unwavering commitment to delivery that meets the needs of our stakeholders, with a focus on high standards, outstanding relationship and client management, and clear, incisive thinking.
- Proven leadership skills - you will show the ability to motivate teams to deliver by developing people and teams and creating a rewarding working environment.
- Problem solving - experience of creatively shaping and implementing robust solutions to complex problems.
- Excellent project management - you will be a self-starter, able to work through complexity and ambiguity and have shown an ability to initiate, lead and drive delivery
- Previous public sector experience is highly desirable
- Previous knowledge in internal trade or buyer security is also highly desirable
- Strong Stakeholder Management skills
- Highly organised with the ability to deliver at speed in a fast-paced environment.
