This post is a key Organisational post providing leadership, support and guidance for Safeguarding adults/the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards across the Trust. We require an experienced individual with a passion and commitment for safeguarding adults who is able to work both individually and as part of a team.

The Named Professional will ensure the delivery of robust safeguarding arrangements, advice and support across the Trust that facilitates the safeguarding of adults and families, in collaboration with other Named Professionals, CHFT services and multi-agency teams.

The role will sit corporately and work as part of the Integrated Adults and Children’s Safeguarding Team to deliver safeguarding training and supervision that supports staff in working with families with complex needs and where safeguarding concerns are identified.

**Key activities include**:

- Providing specialist advice, leadership, supervision, support and training in relation to safeguarding adults and their families.
- Work collaboratively and in partnership with other agencies in the voluntary and statutory sectors; contribute to multi-agency training and support the work of the Local Safeguarding Boards.
- Act as Lead Professional for Safeguarding Adults, Prevent, the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
- Work closely within the Safeguarding Team to contribute to local service planning, delivery, redesign and performance management in relation to safeguarding adult services.
- Review and develop policies and procedures in accordance with local and national guidance.
- Develop and deliver adult safeguarding training.
- Undertake audits of safeguarding practice and report to the Head of Safeguarding.
- To be accessible to staff, service users and carers for issues relating to adult safeguarding.

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual who is enthusiastic and passionate about safeguarding, with the tenacity to drive the safeguarding agenda forward. You will need to possess effective negotiation skills and will work trust wide to ensure that robust governance systems are in place, providing assurance to the Head of Safeguarding that CHFT is meeting its statutory safeguarding responsibilities.

To work closely with other Named and Designated Professionals in supporting all activities necessary to ensure that the Trust meets its responsibilities towards safeguarding adult’s. The post holder will be required to work in partnership with other agencies in the voluntary and statutory sectors; contribute to multiagency training, and support the work of the Local Safeguarding Boards. The post holder will work as part of the Safeguarding Team and contribute towards delivery of the overall Trust Safeguarding agenda.

The post holder will work closely within the Safeguarding Team to contribute to local service planning, delivery, redesign and performance management in relation to safeguarding adult services.

The post holder will be expected to display high levels of competence, professional judgement, integrity and personal accountability. They are accountable for their own professional actions, and are not directly supervised. They will contribute to the development and implementation of safeguarding policy and the Trusts safeguarding adults training strategy, facilitating and evaluating both the mandatory and bespoke training programmes throughout the Trust.

The post holder will need to be able to work as an integrated team member and as such be able to effectively safeguard both children and adults, supporting both agendas.
