**Job overview**:
Due to the expansion of the Medical Assessment Unit - B3 an opportunity has arisen to provide the current ward managers and senior nursing and clinical education team with additional Ward Administration support.

B3 is a fast paced, busy admission and assessment unit with around 160 staff. The role would include helping with rostering, new starters, keeping training records and databases up to date, ensuring staff files are up to date, helping on reception, housekeeping and other Acute Medicine wards with cross cover when there is sickness and assisting the ward managers to maintain and manage their diaries, enabling them to support staff clinically.

**Working for our organisation**:
Based at the Queens Medical Centre is a short stay medical admissions ward that prides itself on providing excellent care. We are a 64 bedded unit that is faced paced and we care for emergency medical patients that have been admitted from the Emergency Department.

**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial service to the nursing staff within the ward area, to include monitoring quality and audit activity, data entry and the production of charts and graphs as required.
Provide administrative support and timely workforce & education information related to the nursing service as required by ward sister/charge nurse.

To provide personal assistant support for senior members of the team/ ward manager.

To liaise with ward sister / charge nurse and pay services in the completion of unsocial hours payments. Notifying pay services of sickness, maternity, annual and special leave.

To compile monthly figures for staff sickness, study etc as required by the Manager.

To assist the ward sister in ensuring Electronic rosters are performed to the specified timeline, ensuring the ward is adequately staffed within the agreed establishment figures.

To ensure that the rosters are locked for submission to pay services, annual leave approved and shift amendments altered as required.

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
