**Purpose of the role**:

- Provide day to day coverage of the entire SQL & Oracle estate- Ensure all software is in support with vendors
- To protect infrastructure, systems and data assets, adhering to corporate governance rules, security policies and Industry best practice.
- To ensure our Infrastructure and team’s processes are formally documented to agreed standards, including but not limited to maintenance of a Knowledge Base.

**Key accountabilities**:
The role is accountable to the IT Infrastructure Manager
- Responsible for making changes to production systems, having accountability for the availability, security and performance of those systems.
Database programming, design and tuning
- Deploying database servers from scratch including server and sql/oracle elements.
- Ensure deadlines are meet and issues are escalated to your line manager or project managers.
- Manage own workload of Incidents, Requests, Small Changes, Project Tasks and other objectives to SLAs and agreed timelines.
- To provide handover, knowledge transfer and documentation to team/department upon completion of significant new solutions or changes.
- Understanding of the implications/restrictions of software licensing.
- To be available to implement changes outside of normal business hours including evening and weekends to meet business needs.

**Technical Skills**:

- Demonstrable experience managing and deploying Microsoft SQL Server 2012 - 2019 including SSRS/SSAS/SSIS
- Demonstrable experience managing and deploying Oracle Version 12c-19c, including Fusion Middleware / Oracle Forms & Reports
- Idera SQL Compliance Monitor, installation and administration
- Database Cloud Technologies - SSIS Azure Paas, Data Factory and Power Bi Preferred
- CosmoDB
- Microsoft Windows Administration in Server Operating Systems Windows 2012 - 2019 including experience configuring and supporting IIS and Dcom
- Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Administration
- VMware vSphere Operating System Virtualisation
- Storage Area Network (SAN) concepts and familiarity - Nimble and HP 3Par preferred
- Enterprise Backup Solutions - Commvault preferred
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity - Zerto preferred
- Networking Concepts and familiarization - Cisco switches & Palo Alto Firewalls preferred
- Knowledge of monitoring and alerting technologies - Splunk, Netcrunch preferred.
- Knowledge/Experience of incident management - LANDesk Management Suite preferred
- Scripting (PowerShell)
- ITIL Foundation
