**Job Summary**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the academic team of the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture& Built Environment, contributing to teaching, research, and consultancy, and to the future development of the School. This post offers considerable opportunity for a dynamic, collaborative, and adaptable individual.

You will hold membership of the CIOB, RICS, or equivalent, and will actively participate in the school’s research endeavours. In addition to this, you will be responsible for the effective operation and development of nominated components within designated courses, including our Graduate Apprenticeship honours degree in Construction for the Built Environment and the MSc construction project management. Teaching is expected to be informed by research, scholarship, and industry experience (depending on background).

A strong understanding of the contemporary construction industry and current procurement and project management practices is essential, all within the context of the progressive digitisation and automation of the industry. Understanding of sustainable practices, and developments in this field, is also of central importance.

The research activity of the School, to which new appointments are expected to contribute, is considered central to its success as a progressive, informed, and collaborative academic community. The School has four clusters of research interest and activity, these being Digital Cities and Society; Housing, Pedagogy, and Project Management. These are strongly aligned to RGU’s strategic priorities, including Energy Transition, Digital Cities, Big Data, Community Engagement and Teaching and Learning excellence.

The School can provide appropriate mentorship and support in teaching and learning pedagogy and to enable those with industry backgrounds to contribute to its research endeavour.

The School performs a central role in many important external networks and it is expected that you will further extend these in supporting the growth of collaborative and income generation possibilities.

Interviews are planned for 31 March 2023.

Grade 8 Salary Scale: £43,414 - 51,805
