**Job Summary**:
The School of Computing is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and organised E-learning Assistant to join their team.

Working with school academic staff and supporting the schools Systems Manager, your primary focus will be to provide support for our virtual learning environment based on CampusMoodle. This will include assisting both students and staff with the use of online learning technologies including lecture capture (Panopto) and assessment (Turnitin).

In addition to excellent online communication skills, you should have a working knowledge and/or experience of recording software such as Panopto and of using a Learning Management System, preferably CampusMoodle.

The school already has a mature SharePoint hub configuration for Staff, Research and Student Learning, you will be expected to contribute to ongoing development of SharePoint features.

Experience of PowerApps and Power Automate is an advantage as you may be required to develop short projects that save on time and effort of admin, support or teaching staff.

**RESPONSIBLE TO**: Systems Manager

**RESPONSIBLE FOR**: No supervisory responsibility

**PURPOSE OF POST**: The primary focus of this post is to provide additional support in technology enhanced teaching and learning provision within School of Computing.

**PRINCIPAL DUTIES**:
Communicate with academic staff proactively throughout the year whilst supporting their use of both existing and new technology/software.

Continually review and communicate new releases and updates from Office 365 and advise staff on their suitability for day to day use as well as with teaching activities.

Effective administration of the University VLE, CampusMoodle. Carrying forward and auditing taught modules, ensuring that templates and digital standard guidance are adhered to.

To assist in the preparation of written advice and guidance on the development and use of e-learning materials.

Participate in and contribute to staff training and development activities

To provide support in e-assessment activity across the school

To support commercial course activities.

To support e-Learning project development activities.

Work with course teams and other University departments including DELTA and the Library Service to support teaching activities and ensure alignment with University policies and government legislation. Particularly in relation to accessibility.

Other duties relevant to the post as required.

**Knowledge and skills**

Knowledge and understanding of online learning platforms such as VLE (e.g., CampusMoodle, Panopto) and communication tools (e.g. Zoom and Microsoft Teams.)

Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a strong client focus.

Excellent organisational and time-management skills with ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.

**Experience**

Experience in the design and delivery of engaging content for learning and/or training both in person and online.

Expertise/Advanced user of Microsoft Office 365 especially in the areas of SharePoint, PowerApps and Power Automate.

Experience of working in online spaces and understanding of digital capabilities.
