The Role

You will share responsibility, alongside another Placements Coordinator, for the administration and marketing of all aspects of the Newcastle University Careers Service Placement Year, ensuring service excellence throughout.

You will be part of the Placements Team, who are based within the Careers Service, where we aim to provide all students with the opportunity to experience a placement year during their degree.

We have an opportunity within the Careers Service Placements Team, to share responsibility for the administration and marketing of the Newcastle University Careers Service Placement Year, ensuring service excellence throughout. You will be involved with all aspects of student and placement administrative support for placement cycles about to start, progress or conclude.

You will be part of our team based within the Careers Service, where we aim to provide all students with the opportunity to experience a placement year during their degree. For more information about the work we do, please see here.

This is a 3-day week (0.6FTE) fixed term post covering a secondment and will therefore run to 11.01.2024.

The Person (Essential)

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Competent in the use of Microsoft Office programmes, especially excel, databases and a range of social media Ability to plan, organise and prioritise a complex workload and be self reliant Strong oral and written communication skills Evidence of a strong customer-focused approach Sound numeracy skills to compile and interpret statistical data Ability to work to tight deadlines and with a high level of accuracy A strong team player, able to identify where support is required, motivate others and develop and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders Ability to use initiative and solve problems Evidence of good interpersonal and negotiation skills in person/over the phone Experience of coordinating complex administrative processes Knowledge of graduate labour market, student employment and work experience Awareness of employment legislation and recruitment practices Experience of marketing and/or promoting a service or product

**Qualifications**:
English Language and Maths GSCE Grade A-C or equivalent
