Are you a Wheel Lathe Operative looking for a new opportunity? We have a rapidly growing engineering client in Doncaster Looking for someone to join their team on a contract running until the end of the year with possible extension

As a Wheel Lathe Operative will be working on a varied shift pattern including night shifts and will be offered a rate of £15.70 an hour, averaging 40 hours per week.

As a Wheel Lathe Operative your purpose will be to operate a Hegenscheidt U400 Wheel Lathe to re-profile Rail Wheelsets either on Rail Vehicles or Loose Axles. To carry out Post Tyre Turning work on vehicles following tyre turning

As a Wheel Lathe Operative your role will include various tasks such as:

- Ensure accurate and efficient operation of the Wheel Lathe.
- Ensure high quality finish of work carried out on the Lathe.
- Competently operate Under Floor Wheel Lathe.
- Identify all types of wheel damage and turn damage/wear out of wheels.
- Ensures efficiency and accuracy and able to work under own initiative.

Competencies Required
- Previous experience of CNC Machinery
- An Engineering qualification - B-TEC, NVQ, ONC, Engineering Apprenticeship or comparable
- A positive approach to Health and Safety, Environment and Risk Management.
- Focused on results but tactful when handling objections or obstacles to meeting objectives.
- Ability to search out errors, rectify omissions, which will ultimately raise the quality and standards of all tasks undertaken.
- Ability to work to demanding schedules and delivery deadlines, operating against Key Performance Indicators.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
