Research Governance Facilitator

We are currently looking for a colleague to join the Research and Innovation Governance Team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, where we deliver high quality national and international research studies to benefit our patients, staff and local communities.
The Research Governance Facilitator will act as a focal point for communication between the clinical research departments, research support staff and trial sponsors with regards to research study set up and ongoing delivery. The post holder will be expected to undertake duties in an independent manner without the need for direct supervision and be capable of using and taking initiative.
The role is varied, interesting, dynamic and often challenging.You will be supported with research training to develop skills, knowledge and career development.
- The Research Governance Facilitator provides a key interface between researchers and the Research and Innovation Department (R&I) at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
- To support the set-up of commercial and non-commercial research and co-ordinate the approval process for study amendments, contract reviews and Trust sponsored studies, whilst adhering to ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Trust policies. The above duties will be achieved alongside the R&I Governance Team to ensure an efficient and streamlined process for study set-up and ongoing research delivery at the Trust.
- Maintain close communication with researchers so that they are aware of the status of their project.
- Responsible for the collation of project information so that projects can be registered on the appropriate R&I Office systems.
- Ensure that research staff have the appropriate training and employment contracts to deliver the research. Providing advice and guidance to research teams should additional training of access be required.
