**Hours** 36 Hours a week (Mon-Fri)

**Duration** 6 Month Contract - possible extension

**We are seeking to appoint a Direct Payments Advisor within our Direct Payments Team based in the Children with Disabilities Service (CWD).**

**You will be responsible for setting up DP Pre-paid accounts, paying and monitoring the use of public funds to ensure that there is good governance. You will also liaise with customers, social workers, family support workers and other stakeholders to resolve issues and provide information and advice. Ideally, you will have experience of making direct payment accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities including people with physical disabilities, sensory impairments, learning disabilities, mental health as well as carers. The role will involve occasional home visits.**

**To provide a range of advice, support and guidance to Parents or Cares who might be in receipt of Direct Payments from Children Social Care, London Borough of Croydon to work alongside Social Work teams in processing referrals and provide information and guidance to children families wishing to take up Direct payment as part of their children agreed support plan.**
**Work directly with parents and carers and arrange meetings at a venue of their choice, including home visits, such visits are unsupervised (lone working), to discuss direct payments and sign-up documentation required.**
**Responsible for supporting service users on recruitment and selection of staff, offering support on the financial aspects of their direct payment packages.**
**To be instrumental in assisting service users to identify support from other relevant agencies.**
**To support service users in the completion and submission of quarterly financial returns.**
**To administer and monitor Direct Payments on behalf of Children with Disabilities (CWD). To ensure that these services are compliant with direct payment policy, ensuring that both internal and external controls are complied with.**

**We would like to hear from people who have knowledge of Direct Payments legislation, guidance, and ability to undertake regular auditing of client accounts to ensure effective use of resources with excellent communication and people skills.**
