Inventory Controller

This is an exciting time to join the business - the role will develop further during 2024 as a new MRP/ERP system is implemented, and will require the position holder’s input to ensure optimisation of the system.

**Duties**:

- Work safely in accordance with our safe systems of work
- Offload delivery vehicles via forklift truck and pallet movers
- Unpack and inspect goods, and record receipt within the MRP system
- Raise shortfalls or incorrect component deliveries with suppliers and manage corrections
- Raise non-conformances (quality, safety, environmental) as required and communicate them appropriately
- Put away inventory in safe and organised manner, and update the MRP system
- Pick stored goods and materials as required by the MRP system to satisfy production requirements
- Reviewing the picking schedule to prioritize workload activities
- Collect and return surplus items from the production area to stock and update the MRP as required
- Periodic inventory counting to reconcile to MRP system
- Monitor stock levels of consumable items required by production (fixings, cable, terminals) and raise purchase orders to suppliers when replenishment is required
- Identification of shortages in a timely manner, communicating them to Production Supervisor
- Packaging and loading of completed products leaving the production facility onto delivery vehicles
- Provide cover for raising Purchase Orders in MRP system
- Produce regular and accurate inventory reports as required by divisional and finance teams
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Maintaining & organising a busy stores warehouse environment. This includes the maintenance of cleanliness through the regular emptying of bins and skips within the production facilities.
- Fulfilling any additional duties as requested by the Supervisor

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or delivery role where you have had responsibility for preparing and processing requisitions, receipting goods in and ensuring stock levels are maintained through inventory systems
- Utilisation of IT systems including Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Utilisation of MRP/ERP systems (or inventory management software)

**Competencies for Role**:

- GCSE or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English
- A methodical and thorough approach to work, and an ability to multi-task and work at pace whilst maintaining high standards.
- Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
- Current Forklift Truck Licence
- Personable manner, good team-worker
- Organised and structured approach to your work
- Adaptable
- IT literacy
- Problem solving skills
- Knowledge of electrical components.
- Previous experience of an MRP/ERP

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £26,500.00-£30,000.00 per year
