Job overview

The Clinical Outpatient Department at Salford Royal holds clinics for many different specialities.

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Heath Care Worker to join the clinical outpatient team

The department provides an excellent opportunity to develop skills and knowledge across a variety of specialities as you are expected to work across all areas with support from a team of registered nurses.

You will be proficient in venepuncture, have excellent organisational skills within the clinic setting, have leadership qualities and have a keen interest to Lead in standardising clinic activity.

You will offer a person-centered approach to patient care and go the extra mile to ensure compassionate and personalised patient care is delivered to ensure our patients have a positive clinic experience.

Main duties of the job
- Work within clinics as allocated by the nurse in charge.
- Support Clinicians by assisting in the delivery of care to the patient directly or indirectly.
- Manage clinic workload and Team organisation.
- Support the registered staff through the utilisation knowledge and skills learnt at Level three to provide safe and effective care to patients and support to clinicians.
- Communicate effectively with other members of the department team & patients and visitors to the department
- Carry out routine and specific procedures required for the day-to-day running of the department that require no interpretation where diagnostic results are produced
- Maintain good standards of cleanliness in the department.
- Actively support the work to achieve and maintain OPAAS green status.

**Skills**:
Essential criteria
- Evidence of relevant skills associated with the role i.e. venepuncture
- Organisational skills to manage clinic team

Desirable criteria
- Willingness to undertake relevant further study as required for the post.

Experience

- Experienced outpatients experience

Desirable criteria
- previous health care experience

**Qualifications**:
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification

Desirable criteria
- Immediate Life Support Course
