**Bobby Moore Academy is looking to recruit **an inspirational Safeguarding Officer to join our Safeguarding Team.**

We are situated across two iconic sites on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and our Secondary phase is now heavily oversubscribed. Since the school was founded in 2017, we have set ambitious academic standards backed up by exciting enrichment opportunities, whilst nurturing and caring for the wellbeing of every child. At capacity, our two sites will accommodate over 1500 pupils, including a Sixth Form.
Built on the legacy of the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games we enjoy world beating facilities including a competition standard 400m running track, full size football pitch and field events space, Astro-turf pitch, and state of the art classrooms and school buildings. **About the role**

As part of the Safeguarding Team, you will be responsible for managing a caseload and giving support and advice in responding to concerns or complaints affecting the safety and welfare of young people; for progressing some safeguarding concerns and making the necessary referrals to statutory agencies where required.

To be committed to the safeguarding and well-being of students and staff in the academy

To keep informed of current legislation, statutory and other guidance with regards to KCSIE, data protection and confidentiality

To act as a point of contact for safeguarding, welfare, behaviour and attendance concerns, providing timely, relevant support and advice in order to safeguard the student

To attend internal/eternal safeguarding and attendance meetings as and when required

To maintain up to date, accurate, confidential records

Meet with staff, students and parents to identify and overcome barriers to learning, attendance and behaviour concerns

To make unsupervised contact with families in response to allocated referrals i.e. home visits and / or meetings in school as and when required

**Who we are looking for**

5 A* - C GCSE grades (or equivalent) including English and Maths

Experience of working with young people aged 11-19 in a secondary school

Willingness to undertake further work related training

Good ICT skills (including using Microsoft Word and Excel)

Knowledge and understanding of strategies to overcome barriers to learning, behaviour and attendance

Able to develop positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents

Able to work as part of a team, friendly manner and a sense of humour

Flexible and approachable in a busy day to day environment

Ability to cope with and adapt to change

Accuracy and attention to detail
