Providing local management and guidance to CFR scheme coordinators and their scheme members as ‘business as usual’ in order to improve the dissemination of learning and facilitate the continuing development of the volunteers or paid service provision.
To support the Community First Response teams and other external stakeholders by assisting in the provision of professional education, training and learning opportunities within the Ambulance Training Centres and within the Community.
East Midlands Ambulance Service provides emergency 999 care and telephone clinical assessment services for a population of 4.8 million people.
On average we receive a new 999 call every 40 seconds (1,026,249 emergency and urgent calls received during 2018/2019).

Lead and influence the local management and development of volunteers, to the professional standards as laid down by the JRCALC guidelines and local protocols and procedures.
Ensure compliance with any Trust or directorate policies, procedures and guidelines.
Provide CFR training and induction for members of the Trust and external clients as required.
Monitor and evaluate the delivery of education, content and teaching materials to ensure the quality exceeds the minimum standards as required by external quality assurance processes.
Ensure information and training management systems are followed in accordance with the CFR data base and CFR folders.
At agreed times, undertake clinical duties by agreement with the Operations Management Team to support organisational goals, seasonal pressures and maintain personal skills/CPD.
Maintain the serviceability and security of departmental equipment and vehicles and that training venues are monitored to ensure a safe learning environment for all.
To maintain confidentiality in line with Trust policy and ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act and Caldicott principles.
Provide training in line with income generation requests from commercial companies or other parts of the health community as required.
When requested produce written basic reports/updates for internal meetings on a range of issues and provide quarterly reports to the management team and key external stakeholders.
Assist with the Trust’s response to external inspections/ accreditation visits.
Assist with fact finding and investigations following complaints and incidents.
Co-ordinate and support the promotion and development of all local schemes in your sector.
