Our products and services include advisory, financing, prime services, research and analysis, securities services, trading and sales and transaction banking.
Within GBM, HSBC Market & Securities Services (MSS) works with corporate and institutional clients where we provide a wide range of markets products via our specialist teams. We are currently seeking a professional to join our Institutional Sales team as an Assistant Director, this is a technical sales role specifically covering the Technology, Media & Telecom (TMT) client base.
The role is office-based working at HSBC offices at Canada Square, London and will include limited travel for client meetings. You must be able to work in London on a weekly basis.
In this role you will be expected to:

- Sell Cash Equities & Research into Institutional clients & investors that are directly aligned to the TMT sector.
- Grow deep and broad customer relationships within our Technology Institutional clients to enhance the HSBC franchise and generate value added business.
- Maintain accountability for building and converting a pipeline of growth opportunities in line with assigned targets and within profitability guidelines.
- Collaborate with other internal businesses within Markets and Securities Services as well as other areas within the Group e.g., Global Banking, the Innovation Bank, Wholesale Banking, Wealth and Personal Banking and Private Banking
- Maintain and enhance the reputation of MSS in the marketplace through external relationships, building a network of market intelligence with key industry participants and influencers.
Requirements

To be successful you will demonstrate the following:

- Be a tenured sales professional (Director level) and have the appropriate level of experience and knowledge in Equities sales (Cash & other Derivatives)
- Owing to the technical nature of the role you MUST have a thorough understanding of the structure of Institutional Investors specifically within the TMT sector.
- Possess a very high level of commercial acumen and be experienced in complex and contractual negotiations.
- Have the appropriate gravitas which engenders client confidence to be regarded as a trusted advisor to senior level professionals & investors.
- Essential to have a solid understanding of the Risk and Control and Regulatory governance of Global Markets
