**LOCATION**: COLCHESTER BASE - TRUST-WIDE SERVICE DELIVERY (Including Southend, Essex and Thurrock)

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Learning Disability Practitioner (Nurse, OT or Social Worker) to join us in the Essex Children’s Learning Disability Service (CLDS). CLDS is an Essex wide, community based provision for children aged between 5-18, who have a diagnosis of Moderate to Severe Learning Disability, and who engage in difficult to manage behaviour within their home environment.

The team offers specialist assessment and treatment for children, with the aim of developing individual and evidence based Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans. There is a focus on providing education for parents and carers relating to the possible reasons for their children’s behaviour, in addition to the practicalities of how this can be prevented and/or managed.

Professionals within the team currently include those from a Nursing (both RNLD and RMN) and Occupational Therapy background, although professionals from other relevant backgrounds will be considered. The CLDS places a strong value on multi-professional working, both internally, and with the wider systems involved with children accessing the service and their families to ensure that the care provided is holistic and well coordinated.
