**We are recruiting for an articulate and resourceful Placements Officer, to offer a professional response to Local Authorities seeking foster placements for children and young people in their care.**

This pivotal role for the organisation will involve the coordination of approved foster carers and their vacancies in alignment to the daily and ever changing requirements of local authority fostering teams. With the needs of the child/young person your primary focus you will liaise with all parties to ensure that safe, appropriate and sustainable placements are established. You will also contribute to the recruitment of potential foster carers including the delivery of preparatory training and induction of foster carers.

- Excellent communication Skills, written and verbal, with good attention to detail.
- A keen problem-solving nature.
- A great team-player.
- Friendly, polite and a willingness to work flexibly.

**Key Duties**:

- Maintaining a list of foster carers with vacancies and circulating details to other members of staff and to local authorities as required.
- Responding to enquiries from local authorities concerning possible placements and to consider which of the agency’s vacancies best match the needs of the child(ren) to be placed.
- Consulting with foster carers and Agency staff about the suitability of possible placements and to identify and whenever possible resolve problems which might compromise the suitability of potential placements: i.e. problems in respect of transport, finance and equipment.
- Updating of foster carer profiles.
- Contribute to the recruitment, assessment, preparation and induction of foster carers.
- Participation in the out-of-hours rota

**Salary**: £22,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
