The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies is looking for an enthusiastic member of academic staff to teach veterinary parasitology to undergraduate and postgraduate veterinary students, develop parasitology research, and enhance links between parasitology research and clinical services.

**The Opportunity**:
The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and Roslin Institute is a one-of-a-kind centre of excellence in clinical activity, teaching and research. Our purpose-built campus, set against the backdrop of the beautiful Pentland Hills Regional Park, is home to more than eight hundred staff and almost eighteen hundred students, all of whom contribute to our exceptional community ethos. We represent the largest concentration of animal science-related expertise in Europe, impacting local, regional, national and international communities in terms of economic growth, the provision of clinical services and the advancement of scientific knowledge

We are seeking a keen and enthusiastic member of staff to teach veterinary parasitology throughout the BVM&S curriculum, and train the next generation of veterinary graduates in the relevance and importance of parasitology, both at the preclinical and clinical level.

The post also allows scope to undertake research, either pre-existing or in conjunction with research programmes within the RDSVS, Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Security, and the Roslin Institute. This may include working towards a clinical specialism, such as European Veterinary Parasitology College Diplomate status, or to continue current research. This post will foster closer links between veterinary clinical services and parasite research, with the potential to improve diagnostic tests and treatments, as well as advance understanding of parasite epidemiology.

**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- A postgraduate degree in a biological or veterinary discipline, or equivalent
- Clinical experience in the field of veterinary parasitology
- A record of veterinary parasitology research relevant to the strengths of RDSVS and the Roslin Institute
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Interest and experience in electronic learning environments Work independently as well as part of the team, and communicate well with colleagues and students
