**Job Description**:
Our mission as the Commercial department is to provide trusted advice, expertise and resources that enable our business to win and deliver successful contracts and grow a sustainable and valued business. We are looking for a passionate Senior Commercial Officer to join us on this mission.

As a Senior Commercial Officer you will a key player in supporting the shaping, negotiation and drafting of our key commercial contracts to the needs of our fast-paced business, with a focus on UK/EMEA. You will also support on various in-contract matters and will have the opportunity to work on various projects and continuous improvement initiatives. You will also be supported with your career objectives and have support and mentorship across the team.

Reporting to the Regional Lead for Commercial in EMEA, you will be part of a small and dynamic team with a focus on quality, transparency and flexibility. We get 'stuck in', supporting each other's workload and sharing best practice. You will also work with a variety of stakeholders across our business, including Account Management, Bid Service, Finance, Legal and Project-specific teams (and, of course, our customers).

**Key Responsibilities**

The Commercial team in EMEA undertake a variety of activities and every day is different, although typical activities include:

- Supporting contractual negotiations through to signature with a variety of financial services customers, liaising with stakeholders as appropriate
- Undertaking contract drafting and reviewing on various contract types (frameworks, variations, licences, services)
- Ensuring internal governance with respect to our commercial offerings are adhered to and escalating appropriate terms
- Supporting sales and bid teams in the competitive bidding stage
- Identifying commercial risks and communicating them appropriately
- Ensuring our obligations are fully understood by the relevant teams
- Providing ongoing advice and interpretation of contract terms, and pragmatic advice on contract issues

- Be able to build relationships with several internal teams as well as our clients, and find common ground
- Know when to be firm, and when to be flexible
- Be able to balance competing priorities and workloads, escalating if required
- Be relatively autonomous and independent, but know when to ask for help
- Have rigour, an eye for detail and appreciation of various policy needs (internal and external)

Essential requirements:

- Some experience in negotiating technology contracts and ability to draft with support
- Knowledge of the main contractual and legal principles with respect to commercial transactions
- Understanding of applicable commercial models (e.g. time and materials / fixed price services)
- Ability to consider subcontracting matters
- A good working knowledge of key intellectual property and data protection considerations

Desirable but not essential:

- Understanding of different cultural environments and contracting customs within Europe.
- European languages would be a bonus
- Experience with software licensing and support
- Experience working with financial services customers with rigorous processes
