An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Endocrinology team as a Clinical Educator.
Mattishall Ward is a 38 bedded ward, specialising in Diabetes &Endocrinology. Endocrinology is an interesting specialty, offering opportunities to learn and develop nursing practice within a supported structure. Our Endocrinologists have experience in the management of a wide variety of endocrine diseases. We are currently seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and motivated Registered Nurse to join our friendly and motivated team as a Clinical Educator, they will support the ongoing training and development needs of our team. This role offers an exciting and challenging opportunity to work alongside a dedicated and highly skilled multi-disciplinary team.
We are looking for someone with a real passion for working with learners, such as Newly Qualified Nurses, Nurses as part of the Overseas programme, Student Nurses, and any other new members of the team.
The Clinical Educator will work under the direction of the Ward Manager and Matron on Mattishall ward to support learners, their mentors and supervisors in the workplace. This will involve working clinically with all staff at all stages of their professional development, including those undertaking programmes for overseas and return to practice, supervised practice, pre and post registration programmes and those in bands 1-4.
The post holder will have a key role in developing and maintaining quality and educational initiatives and will act as a role model in clinical practice.
The post holder will work with senior colleagues to raise the profile and promote Endocrinology and Diabetes as an innovative and diverse Specialty.
The post holder will be expected to use their initiative, analytical skills and judgement. The post-holder will work autonomously to agreed objectives.

- Be a visible proactive presence in the practice areas working clinically alongside a variety staff to enable them to achieve their programme related learning or professional objectives
- Provide support and advice to staff who are supervising and mentoring students/learners on a range of programmes.
- Deliver teaching sessions, including clinical teaching, on in-house programmes of study as required.
- Where identified as appropriate, and in conjunction with the line manager, develop individualised learning objectives and support learners in achieving them
- Support new models of mentorship and a coaching approach to learner support where this is achievable.
- Work with other key personnel in contributing to the audit of practice placements and maintenance of the audit cycle.
