With Environment, Health & Safety being our number one priority at Caterpillar, the **Health & Safety Champions **will have an important role in supporting our expressed vision to build a culture where everyone’s behaviour supports a safe environment within a successful and sustainable business. You will play a key part in supporting our health and safety improvement program and be expected to advise, encourage, and train colleagues to work safely. You will be required to work a multi shift pattern.

**You will be accountable for driving**:

- Provide one to one or team coaching, practical advice and / or assistance to team members related to health, safety, or environmental issues.
- Assist in investigation of accidents, near misses, incidents & NDSB’s.
- Assess Risk Assessments for validity and conformance and assist with the development of dynamic rick assessments.
- Complete Structured daily safety walks ensuring attendance of Team Leaders.
- Deliver safety inductions and safety anniversary training.
- Review of training processes conformity and standard work adherence with an emphasis on new starters.
- Collaborate with H&S team to create safety message topics for PIDS/ communications.
- Lead by example in promoting a proactive and positive safety culture reinforcing Caterpillars safety message.

**Required qualifications**:

- You must be passionate about improving the health, safety and environmental performance across Building Constructions Products operations.
- The role requires you to be self-motivated and have good written and oral communication skills.
- Teamwork and flexibility are essential pre-requisites.
- Willing to learn.
- Must be able to demonstrate that you have the ability to coach and mentor following training employees.
- The ability to organise and manage your own workload.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft office products (Excel and PowerPoint)
- Flexibility in supporting BCP UK operations.
- A relevant qualification would be an advantage (NEBOSH, IOSH) although training will be provided to equip the jobholder with the skills and knowledge to successfully perform this role to the standards required, this training program will be determined following a training needs analysis has been carried out with the individual.
- Ability to work towards a safety qualification (NEBOSH / BSC L3)
