With Continued, double-digit growth during 2021, Concerto is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join the Software Development team.

Workstream one will be to maintain and optimise our current test and production SQL servers which are hosted in MS Azure, this will include performance management, maintenance, resilience, backups and security.

And as a Database Administrator with Bellrock you’ll do it by
- SQL Server database and server backup. Regular automated verification of backups
- SQL Server health and performance monitoring
- Automated maintenance of SQL Server databases, re-indexing, consistency checking, growth management (monitoring and forecasting)
- Design and implementation of highly available server topologies to meet business requirements
- Implementation and management of Database Mirroring, Clustering, Availability Groups and Log Shipping
- Implementation of SQL Server native encryption (as appropriate) to meet regulatory requirements
- Management of SQL Server TDE keys across production and non-production environments to enable data encryption and the ability to restore production data to test environments.
- Provision of new SQL Server instances and performing upgrades and patching
- Supporting, advising and mentoring developers of all levels concerning T-SQL coding, consideration to performance, and suggested best practices based on real-world experience
- Management of SQL Server licensing and identification (where possible) of improved licensing models to be adopted
- Migration of on-premises servers to cloud-based solutions
- Selection and introduction of new database technologies and data tier architectures working in conjunction with software architect to design scalable and secure product platform
- Reduction in performance “outages” and meeting availability targets included with our SLA’s
- Ensure RPO and RTO objectives for data can be achieved, supporting business continuity/disaster recovery testing
- Database schema design and implementation
- Design and deployment of Reporting Services reports and supporting database objects
- Support with out of hours issues/deployment when required

**What does it take?**

**Essential**
- 5 Years + in Snr DBA role with complete responsibility for all aspects of database management, preferably in SaaS product environment
- Experience in the identification and delivery of production data tier architecture changes including end to end ownership of change management processes
- Experience of Azure based database technologies including Azure SQL Server (PaaS) and Azure SQL Managed Instances
- Management of Transparent Database Encryption configurations including key lifecycle management
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) of database systems and supporting software developers
- Experience of using SolarWinds SQL Sentry to database performance monitoring
- Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
- Worked as part of a large software team, preferably in an Agile environment
- Experienced in the design and implementation of Data Warehouse technologies and strategies

**Desirable**
- MCSE/MCSA certification
