**Job description**:
There is one role presented in this recruitment campaign, which sits within the Digital Infrastructure Investment team, part of the Broadband Regulation and Investment Team (BRIT).

Role 1 - Head of VHTR Policy Liaison

The Digital Infrastructure Investment team is responsible for new policy initiatives to encourage improvements in broadband services. Some premises are particularly challenging, deemed ‘very hard to reach’, and may require novel technology and policy solutions.

This role will lead liaison on some of these projects, including our trials of new satellite and hybrid network technologies, subsequent monitoring of our satellite grant programme, and other bespoke policy interventions.

We anticipate that this role will interface with stakeholders benefiting from, and organisations supporting or delivering these trials. This will also include collaboration with Digital Infrastructure Future Network Programme, DEFRA’s Future Farming team, and potentially elements of BDUK.

This role will also line manage one Band B resource, a VHTR Policy Liaison Officer, who will support the analytical, policy and some administrative work relating these exciting initiatives.

Essential Requirements

Desirable Skills
- ** Technology skills**: A basic understanding of telecoms technologies would be helpful for these roles. Whilst it is not a technical role, the policy issues and the delivery programmes relating to both Project Gigabit and to Very Hard to Reach premises involve leading edge technology.
- ** Structured, analytical approaches**: These roles involve the assimilation of complex data to plan policy interventions, assess delivery and inform stakeholders. Numeracy, accuracy and professional diligence is essential in these roles.
