Temporary for up to 12 months

Due to the secondment of the current post holder we are seeking a qualified and registered Social Worker to take on the role of Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO).

The LADO is responsible for managing and coordinating the investigation of allegations against staff and volunteers working with children, ensuring that such allegations are managed effectively by employers, voluntary agencies and organisations and ensuring that the safeguarding and protection of children and young people are paramount in all work undertaken.

If you have at least 3 years experience of working in statutory Children’s Services Social Work, including significant experience of inter-agency work with children within the context of safeguarding and child protection, and are looking for an opportunity to progress and broaden your skills and experience this may be the role for you.

The ability to analyse information, balance risks and summarise the salient issues with concision and brevity is also essential.

Excellent communication and networking skills will be essential as will be the ability to work in partnership with a range of stakeholders and the ability to develop and lead effective partnership working.
