The local authority has a friendly and supportive Place Planning Team (Planning Policy), and pride ourselves on getting our job done by overcoming all the challenges, adopting a Local Plan. We seek a thoughtful and enthusiastic individual to help us adopt and review the statutory North Lincolnshire Local Plan, Design Codes, Supplementary Plans and guidance, as well as supporting on Neighbourhood Planning.

This is a permanent post under the management of the Place Planning Specialist. You will immediately be involved in contributing to the development and implementation of the new Local Plan through the Plan’s ongoing Examination in Public. In a Unitary Authority and you will have the opportunity to be involved in the full range of planning policy issues, from housing and employment development to planning for minerals and waste operations.

As a career graded post, this is a rare and exciting opportunity for a highly motivated experienced Planning Officer seeking a new challenge, or a newly qualified (or close to qualification) graduate in a related field seeking to start their career in planning policy. You will be well organised and self-motivated, with the ability to work on your own initiative to meet deadlines, and will require excellent communication and co-ordinating skills. For this post a background in any planning field will be considered.
