**Summary of the Apprentice Process Operator role**

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic individual who is looking to help support customer health through manufacturer?

At Sterling, our Process Operators play a vital role in manufacturing goods that exceed our customers’ expectations.

We currently have 2 positions available and our programme is designed to equip our Operators with the knowledge and skills they need to produce active pharmaceutical ingredients to the highest regulatory standards.

**About the apprenticeship**

The Process Operator apprenticeship will last up to 3 years and will include practical training. You will develop your knowledge of process manufacturing and develop the skills you need to operate the manufacturing plant.

This is a level 3 apprenticeship, and you will complete a level 3 diploma and associated portfolio of evidence to monitor your practical development.

No prior experience is required, all on-the-job training will be provided to help you develop. You will be paired with a mentor at Sterling who will help to train you.

**Your responsibilities**
- Complying with all EHS requirements including safety policies, training and procedures.
- Using appropriate personal protective equipment when required.
- Conducting safety audits.
- Attending learning events and Safety Action Team (SAT) meetings.
- Undertaking training on effective shift handovers.
- Carrying out SAP transactions in an accurate and timely manner.
- Operating plant under supervision and processes according to procedures (Process Record Sheet (PRS), Permit to Work (PTW), Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
- Managing raw materials and intermediates required for processing, including inventory checks.
- Accurately recording and checking data, both written and electronic.
- Managing production equipment in accordance with safety, operational and quality procedures.
- Monitoring performance and critical parameters and alert when necessary.

**Requirements for the role**
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 4-9 in Maths, English and Science.
- Must be prepared to follow a course of study to gain a formal qualification.
- Good level of Health and Safety awareness.
- Able to work individually as well as part of a team.
- Be competent with IT systems including MS Outlook, Powerpoint, Word and Excel.
- Be proactive in finding solutions to problems.
- Be able to identify areas for improving your work environment.
- Takes responsibility for the quality and accuracy of the work.
