**Could you play a key role in ensuring that the British Red Cross is proactively responding to human trafficking internationally?**
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an individual with expertise in supporting trafficked people to join our team in the role of Anti-Trafficking Officer (International).
The role holder will support the Anti-Trafficking team by providing expert technical, operational and capacity building-support to a number of sister National Societies.
**What you'll be doing**
Reporting to the Anti-Trafficking Advisor, you will support the team by providing technical advice and guidance, allowing colleagues to respond to human trafficking internationally.
Working on initiatives for a variety of international locations, you will conduct research to support in-depth context assessments, ensuring that wherever we encounter trafficking, a consistent and appropriate response is provided and the protection response is strengthened.
You will produce guidance and documentation, design and adapt training materials and deliver training to colleagues from different National Societies. In some cases, you will develop prevention materials for migrant and host communities, which highlight potential trafficking risks and which signpost these communities to appropriate sources of advice and support.
You will also monitor policy changes and the external environment and report on the impact on survivors of trafficking.
This role would suit a confident communicator, who would be comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders at different levels within the British Red Cross and its partner organisations.

- You have experience of working effectively with partner organisations
- You have experience of adapting and designing training materials
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; you’re able to build and maintain effective relations and partnerships
- You’re organised; capable of managing a complex workload whilst taking account of competing priorities
- You're comfortable using a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office
**Meet the team**
The Anti-trafficking team is a cross-organisational team working across UK and International directorate. Structurally it is part of the Refugee Support Restoring Family Links directorate.
Growing awareness of human trafficking has drawn the attention among civic society including governments, law enforcement agencies and NGOs for reasons that are complicated by the very nature of trafficking. Human trafficking places people in situations of slavery, debt bondage and exploitation; despite commitment to tackling modern slavery, survivors face multiple barriers in accessing safety, recovery and redress.
The British Red Cross’ response to human trafficking involves all directorates throughout the Red Cross and requires coordination and consolidation.
The British Red Cross is expanding and defining its response to human trafficking and the Officer role within this team is key to support and develop activities across services at a national and international level..
**What you get in return**
As well as a rewarding career with a global charity, you'll get access to a wide range of benefits, these include:
- 36 days holiday (including Bank Holidays) - pro rata for fixed-term roles
- Option to buy an extra 5 days annual leave
- Up to 6% contributory pension
- Flexible working policy
