Ideally based near **Brighton **the **Senior Project Controls Planner** to support the vital work being delivered for Southern Water through our GTb Joint Venture.

GTb is a joint venture with Binnies and Galliford Try formed to design, manage, construct, commission and deliver Southern Water’s AMP7 five-year Capital Investment Programme valued at £700 million with typical project values from £1million to £50 million.

Holding the Senior Lead Project planning position, you will be responsible for the development and administration of detailed Primavera P6 project programmes with regards to baseline and monthly progress and variance. High level of expertise and understanding of critical path methodology, float analysis, cost and resource allocation and earned values analysis. Capable of producing detailed accurate progress reports and identifying and communicating with the high-level management team and client representatives. Able to lead, supervise, guide and support more junior planners.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Responsible for planning and project controls functions for a number of portfolios of small to medium sized water and wastewater projects, or large projects.
- Working in conjunction with the project team, in accordance with Project Contract / NEC Contract requirements and GTb planning standards and procedures:

- Maintain outline engineering programmes.
- Develop outline delivery (engineering, procurement, construction, testing / commissioning and handover) programmes.
- Develop detailed delivery (engineering, procurement, construction, testing / commissioning and handover) programmes.
- Identify critical activities and the critical path.
- Identify and monitor float inclusions and usage.
- Interface with subcontractors and partners in planning and project controls issues, including review of subcontractor programmes for feasibility, completeness and alignment to master project programme.
- Identify programme changes and delays and their impacts, and possible mitigations.
- Allocation of resources and costs.
- Use EVA Methodologies for progress reporting.
- Produce resource and cost profiles and reports.
- Produce programmes to justify extension of time claims and programme impact assessments
- Work with senior management to find ways to improve project execution.
- Convey programme information to the project and senior management teams in a concise and understandable way.
- Ensure that programme updates are performed and submitted accurately and timely.
- Complete project control and programme reports accurately and in a timely manner, and support the project management in the preparation and distribution of reports.

Support Planning and Project Controls management in the implementation of strategic initiatives and objectives

**Essential Requirements**
- Good working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Good working knowledge of NEC Contracts
- Good Communication skills. Comfortable speaking/presenting to groups and senior managers, good written & oral skills
- Experience of working and project planning on large Engineering / Construction / Process plant projects
