**Recoveries Case Handler**
**Based in Chester**
An exciting opportunity to join our Legal Recoveries Team based in Chester.
Your role will be to undertake case handling in the department, optimise the income recovery into the Recoveries Department and to develop indirect and direct debt cases.
**Key responsibilities of a Recoveries Case Handler**:

- Fully investigate all direct branch claims, meticulous attention to detail is required
- Day-to-day knowledge and understanding of cases within the Department
- Ability to quickly learn department procedures
- To drive recovery of debt income on cases, for several portfolios
- To negotiate with debtors and branches
- Production of Legal Recovery letters
- To deal with cases from inception, until they are paid or transferred to solicitors for court action
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as working on own initiative
- The initial ability to self-learn is a must for this role

**Skills & experience required of a Recoveries Case Handler**:

- Good listening skills
- Excellent verbal, written and assertive communications skills
- Be self-motivation, focused and a self-starter
- Experience in Debt Recovery/Litigation or at least experience of professional work in a similar environment.
- Ability to build relationships with both internal and external customers

**Other**:
Excellent time keeping is required, some flexibility in hours may be required.
The hours are Monday - Friday 9.00-5.30pm, 60 minutes unpaid lunch break.
This role is full time and office based.
