Tax Assistant

As a Tax Assistant at Pets at Home, you will play a vital role within the tax team and the broader Finance function. Reporting directly to the VAT Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Group in meeting its tax administration reporting, filing, and payment obligations. This role will primarily focus on providing comprehensive assistance to the corporation tax, VAT, and employment tax processes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the VAT Manager to gather data and assist in the preparation and submission of Group and Joint Venture quarterly VAT returns.
- Handle VAT and PAYE registrations for new Joint Venture Companies with HMRC.
- Perform daily administration tasks to provide essential support to the VAT team.
- Assist other compliance teams in preparing P11D and PAYE settlement agreements as needed.
- Support fellow compliance team members in compiling data for submission to advisors as required.
- Address ad hoc queries from the wider compliance team to provide timely support.

- Capable of thriving in a collaborative team environment, even when working under tight deadlines.

Hybrid working: Office based working from our Handforth (Cheshire) Support Office for 2 days a week
