- monitoring and reporting on attendance for visa compliance and wellbeing;
- and identifying students who are at risk of academic failure through non-engagement with their studies.

The post-holder will also contribute to the work of the broader Informatics Student Services unit by:

- ensuring coordination of the administrative contributions to the University’s Student Support Model;
- signposting students to appropriate sources of help where additional support is required;
- being involved in the planning and delivery of initiatives and events aimed at enhancing the overall student experience;
- and providing administrative and other support for Student Services’ teams as required.

**Knowledge, skills and experience**

Essential criteria

Vocational qualifications (N/SVQ 2/3, ONC or equivalent) plus relevant work experience OR School education to National 5 (SCQF Level 5) or equivalent plus relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in extracting and manipulating data from a variety of sources and using it to draw conclusions.
- Experience of working in a team and with limited supervision.
- Understanding of relevant policies and procedures as they affect the role, and of the quality standards and outputs required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to the working environment.

Desirable criteria
- Experience of maintaining filing systems and working to the requirements of data protection and confidentiality.
- Experience of University of Edinburgh systems, including EUCLID, LEARN and BI Suite, would be a strong advantage.
- Experience of working with and advising students in a busy Higher Education environment.
- Experience of working with students from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.
