Employment Coach

Shaw Trust is a not-for-profit social enterprise that seeks to improve life chances for employment for people who face social and economic challenges. Shaw Trust believes that every person in the UK has the right to live a decent and dignified life through good employment.

The role

As an Employment Coach you will be helping people who are unemployed (participants) to understand their skillset, goals and any barriers that they may face to gaining and remaining in employment. You will be working with a wide range of people, one to one and in groups, in person and remotely via digital delivery, to help to enhance their existing skills and develop new ones through a range of supportive activity.

You will deliver inductions and initial assessments and create supportive action plans in collaboration with participants and colleagues, to help participants achieve their goals.

You will be an effective communicator, who enjoys working with a wide range of people. You will be confident in presenting information and in facilitating sessions in an engaging and impactful way, and you will be motivated to help and support others to reach their goals.
