Junior Designer / Artworker

Hours: 8

Location: Remote/Plymouth - Need to be local to attend some on site visits.

The role:
This is an opportunity to play a vital support role within the brand and design team in a business that respects the power of good information design and data visualisation. Creating business presentation decks, infographics and scientific diagrams, this role requires exceptional attention to detail, real design flair and the ability to translate complex information into clear, simple and visually appealing designs.

Working with a new brand identity in a lean, start-up environment, you’ll have the chance to get involved in a huge variety of design projects and work in collaboration with our design and brand leads to evolve our visual language.

What you'll do:

- Work with content creators across the business to make sure everyone has access to the correct design templates and guidelines
- Help content creators across the business create PowerPoint presentations, this may include creating bespoke diagrams or infographics
- Support the brand and design leads in developing brand guidelines and assets, this could be anything from art working the designs for a T-shirt to creating a social media post to creating branding designs for an EV

What you'll bring:

- Degree level design qualification with a strong preference for Information Design and Data Visualisation
- Solid design skills in Adobe (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and PowerPoint - some basic online animation skills would also be useful
- A positive, practical and ‘can-do’ attitude
- The ability to work at pace and with highly complex, and confidential, information

For this role you might be someone still in college or who has recently left who is looking for a chance to prove, and hone, your design skills in a commercial environment, or you might be someone who has already worked in an artworker/ design role looking for a flexible opportunity or to get yourself back into a design role after a break away. We’re really open to who you are, but we’re very particular about how well we need you to do this
