Summary As Welcome Manager, you will head up the staff & volunteer team, to welcome our visitors and help them enjoy their visit. You will lead and empower your team to respond to customer enquiries and site issues and be the face of the National Trust.

This role is a job share and based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year.

What it's like to work here We are a relatively small property, with a friendly atmosphere, run by a small, dedicated staff team and wider volunteer support. You'll be working within the Welcome Team, reporting to the Property Operations Manager.

The Workhouse and Infirmary is an unusual National Trust property focussing on the social history of the poor, giving a voice to their stories and experiences. It is a complex place that challenges us to reconsider how we care for all in our communitiestoday. With many connections to important contemporary questions surrounding welfare and inequality, it is an exciting time to be joining the team.

What you'll be doing You’ll have joint responsibility for the team, and their safety and working practices, working closely with the Property Operations Manager to develop the site offer.

Who we're looking for We'd love to hear from you, if you:

- Have good practical experience in visitor business, in tourist, heritage or relevant visitor services environment
- Are naturally curious about people, and with a passion to and experience of delivering the highest standards of customer service
- Have excellent organisational skills
- Are a confident leader, adaptable and responsive under pressure
- Have the ability to initiate service recovery without senior support
- Have good IT skills (all MS Office)
