**How you'll make a difference**:
You will make a difference as an Envirocrime Enforcement Officer by addressing environmental crime, such as fly tipping, in South Gloucestershire through investigation and enforcement.

**What will you be doing?**
- You will be drafting procedures and policy and strategy reports relating to the delivery of enforcement activities and keep updated on local environmental quality legislation and best practice in order to amend policy and procedures to reflect these changes.
- You shall investigate and respond to complaints relating to offences, including investigation into criminal offences (e.g. fly tipping and waste duty of care), issue guidance, and take appropriate enforcement action.
- You will gather evidence for potential litigation, conduct interviews in accordance with the requirement of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act and the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act. You shall prepare all necessary reports, case papers and witness statements; and give evidence in Court. This can include obtaining warrants and telephone data records.
- You shall provide direct expert advice and assistance to other officers across the department on enforcement related cases.

**What we need from you**:

- You will have a degree or experience of envirocrime or other criminal field of enforcement, or have experience of working in a relevant specialist environment and be able to demonstrate experience and relevant results.
- You will be able to investigate, collect evidence, prepare case files and present in court; including the preparation of paperwork and attending in court to obtain warrants and phone data records.
- You shall be able to demonstrate knowledge of the waste legislation and offences and the Police and Criminal Evidence Act and the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act.

Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
