**How you'll make a difference**:
You will make a difference as a Street Enforcement Officer by addressing environmental crime and street scene offences such as littering in South Gloucestershire. You will be a part of a diligent team that takes enforcement action to positively create a safer, cleaner and greener environment for our community.
- You will provide an efficient and effective service of enforcement in a fair, accurate, and consistent manner, by enforcing the provisions of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and the Anti Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014 in addition to any other legislation relevant to the role. Where appropriate you will issue Fixed Penalty Notices.
- You will offer assistance to the public and support community problem solving involving environmental protection and anti-social behaviour matters by working with other departments to assist in reducing crime.
- You will undertake patrols in South Gloucestershire, gathering evidence, enforcing and advising on matters, including but not limited to, littering, fly posting, graffiti, abandoned vehicles, the unauthorised distribution of free printed material, breach of a Public Spaces Protection Order, fly tipping and littering from vehicles.
- You will need to positively engage with the local community and businesses in order to improve awareness and education on environmental crime.
- You will be required to monitor, record, report details of offences whilst on patrol.

**What we need from you**:

- You will have considerable relevant, practical experience of working in an enforcement role, backed by knowledge and understanding of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014 and Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE).
- You will have evidence of delivering high quality, customer service excellence and be able to demonstrate that you can work successfully as part of a team.
- You will have well developed interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and engage successfully with members of the public, community groups and partner organisations,
- You will have experience of and be confident using technical kit such as mobile devices or body worn cameras.
- You must be able to undertake patrols in all weathers
- It is essential you have a full and clean driving licence

**Things we need you to know**.
- Whilst on patrol you will be required to use a body worn camera.
- This role operates on a rota basis with daily patrols starting and finishing from a fixed office base in Yate. The usual hours are 08.30 to 16.30, with some seasonal variation.
- For operational reasons you may be required to work outside of this rota, these will be pre-planned operations for which advance notice will be given.
- You will be required to wear a uniform whilst on patrol. This will be provided.
- You will receive accreditation via the Waste Management Industry Training Advisory Board (WAMITB) National Enforcement Academy accredited programme.

Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post
