We are currently recruiting an Assistant Psychologist role supporting our Tier 4 Adolescent Outreach Team. This role has an emphasis on supporting clinical staff with parenting support groups as well as individual parenting support for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) who are involved with our Adolescent Outreach Team and Inpatient Unit.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with young people and their families involved with our AOT and inpatient services, ensuring that the young person and parents are supported with managing CYP with ASC.

To support and enhance the provision of professional psychological care of children and young people who require support to transition to adult mental health services. Support to clinicians involved in the care of young people who are moving to adult mental health or associated mental health services through the support to group or individual work, support to staff teams, audit, quality improvement and research under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist, working according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and lead nurse and within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.

To assist in the conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects and project work. The post holder will help design and implement teaching and support intervention, for both the child, young person, and his/her carers. All clinical work will be carried out under supervision and with the agreement of the post holder’s supervisor.

**About our locations**:
Tooting (Wandsworth)

Our Trust headquarters is located within the impressive grounds of Springfield University Hospital in Tooting and we also operate in nearly 100 other locations throughout the UK. This is easily accessible via the Northern Line (Tooting Bec Station) and via private transport. The Trust provides subsidised parking fares for all our substantive staff. Our main site is located immediately next to Tooting High Street where staff can easily access a range of shops, cafés and restaurants.

Under appropriate supervision from a qualified Clinical Psychologist:

- To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a client’s problems, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist,
- To assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic and/or psychoeducation groups, or care planning.
- To attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings, including referral, clinical and review meetings.
- To assist in the implementation and monitoring of therapy and care plans in a way that is positive and respectful of clients’ and carers' needs.
- To assist in the compilation of assessment, update and discharge reports as required.
- To work with other staff to assess clients in various settings and review their care in preparation for multi-disciplinary reviews.
- To assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings where care takes place.
